Synopsis:

This book covers pathology and genetics for people in the nursing profession. Divided into two parts, the first part covers pathology and the second part focuses on genetics. The book covers these subjects in 41 chapters.

The pathology part of the book is divided into seven sections. The first section focuses on cellular and tissue Pathology. The next four sections focus on systemic pathology, which discusses the pathology of the various organ systems like heart, blood vessels, gastrointestinal and nervous systems.

The final two sections in the pathology part cover clinical and laboratory pathologies. These cover the investigative processes involved in the diagnosis of diseases. This include the procedures used in laboratory studies and the observation and interpretation of results in laboratory.

The second part explains the fundamentals of human genetics. It goes into the structure of chromosomes and the discussion of the many anomalies that can occur. The coverage in this section includes prenatal diagnosis and the knowledge necessary for paramedical personnel in understanding genetic diseases.
